About New Kid

New Kid has existed in many guises since 2004. We design distinct and comfortable footwear that defy age, size and shape barriers and are unisex as much as possible.

We have a great love of colour—bold and soft—pattern and texture; combining these elements in surprising ways in the hope our products are a pleasure to wear. Our footwear materials, components and labour are locally sourced in Tuscany from small family businesses.

We work kind of as a factory buying components ourselves and delivering to various small factories and artisans to complete the shoes. A very hands on process to control timing and solve issues as they arise. This unique way of working keeps us very involved in the day to day process and having close relationships with the families which is enormously satisfying. This small scale production also allows us to offer a made to order service including vegan options.
